Enrolment

Moving to High School

Expressions of interest (EOI) for Year 7 2025 will open in March 2024.

Your child's primary school will provide an online link to the digital EOI form in March 2024.

Our school can help with enrolment queries throughout the year.

Local enrolment area

Check your address on School Finder to see if it is within our local intake area. Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.

How to enrol

If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

Enrolment applications are finalised at the school.

For more information, visit secondary school enrolment.

Enrolment Policy - Information for Parents

The Enrolment of Students in NSW Government Schools policy is on place to asist schools to meet their obligations under the Education Act 1990 - to ensure that every student has a place at their local school.

This revised policy is designed to support schools to manage all enrolment applications, encourage greater consistency in decision-making and make sure the enrolment choices are clear for parents.

Transition program

At Bathurst High we see the transition from primary school to secondary school as a significant step and it is essential that we give students an opportunity to move gradually through this change. Our iXplore program is central to providing quality transition for Year 6 students intending on enrolling at the school.

Our transition program for Year 6 students comprises:

  • iXplore Transition Program
  • An Orientation Night held in Term 1
  • A second Orientation Night held in Term 4
  • A full day Orientation Day held late November

The program is open to students from our feeder primary schools as well as non-government schools. The iXplore Transition Program involves students visiting the campus once a term to participate in interactive lessons that allow them to become familiar with staff, students and facilities as well as experience subject areas that are offered in the Bathurst High curriculum.
